Pros:
* Well protected in hard case
* Easy clean black ABS handles with non-slip grip
* Ground cutting edge along full length of blades
* Quick delivery (using standard China Mail, >8-days)
Cons:
- Not the sharpest knife you can buy
- Cannot be sharpened using conventional 'steels', or knife sharpers that you may have in the kitchen
- The gift box is good for protecting the knives in transit, but too large for long term storage. As ceramic knives are pron to damage if stored in a drawer with metal knives/tools, you will need to find somewhere safe to store them when not in use.
Other Thoughts:
As any enthusiastic cook will know, a sharp knife is an essential tool to have available in the kitchen. Whilst you can spend a small fortune on 'branded' high carbon steel knives, the average domestic cook cannot justify spending the equivalent to a days wage on one knife. Yes, there are branded ceramic knives on the market but these are comparatively expensive as well.
The alternative, a ceramic knife from DX!
Bottomline:
Okay, these knives are sharp enough for the average domestic chef, (even though they won't equal the sharpest high carbon knife), but they will retain their edge for much longer. At these prices you can afford to try out the benefits of going ceramic without breaking the bank :)
