- highe TRANSFER speed. On my kingston 8gb class 4 card - the wirte-speed was approx 5mb/s and read-speed approx 18mb/s.
- micro SD card stays snug in its housing, does not feel like it will fall out easily.
- no drivers needed; great for computer technicians, or people who move data around a lot.

Pros:

Tiny and won't interfere with your keys but you can keep it with you at all times.
micro SD cards fit perfectly.
Looks nice

Cons:

It will take a beating if you keep if on a commonly used key chain. I had the case on mine crack after almost a year. Get a couple as you will likely have to replace this eventually if you keep it on you all the time.
The contacts are recessed so sometimes you have to push on it to make it work.

Bottomline:

Overall it's one of the better micro memory card readers I have owned. It lasted quite long and always worked reliably. I have ordered a few more to replace my broken one as well as a couple other versions I look forward to reviewing.

I think there are better similar products on DX. I'm used to buy different ones, to see what is fits best my needs.

this is the one to get. definitely a keeper.

Pros:

Works not so well. Sometimes simply vanishes from system. But for this money of the best also it is not necessary to expect. If expensive input reader of flash cards microSD or Trans Flash take this is necessary to you not.
It small and convenient for resocks. It was checked on cards microSD 2 Gb and microSDHC 8 Gb. Works both on that and on another.

Cons:

Sometimes vanishes from system. As the device it is visible, but there is no possibility to get access to a flash card.
Other minuses I do not see.

Bottomline:

If expensive input reader of flash cards microSD and microSDHC take this is necessary not. For the money it works.

reference to my 1st posting about they don't work, after researching through previous reports on this item i've found out that you have to turn them up side down, to make them work as they have inverted pins.

Cons:

very cheap item and works extremely well, once you figure out how to use it, it also is a must for ppl needing a convenient storage solution to on the go file storage.

Pros:

Very small and practical device to carry in your wallet. Beautiful device, simple to use, comes with a litle rope to fix it on a key chain or other place not to lose it.

Cons:

There is no specific "lock-in" for the microSDHC -card on this reader, so as I am using mine so that it has the old 2Gb card in it all the time when I'm not transfering something onto the new 2Gb card, I'm a bit nervous that the 2Gb card would drop off the stick and get lost. Thus, I had to put a small piece of 3M magic tape on it to secure it in it's place.

Other Thoughts:

Very handy little card reader. The string was a tad different from the picture. It had only the string and a little metal ring to attach to a keychain. Card slides out of the reader so that it's easy to get out, but doesn't drop involuntarily. The blue activity led is very cute and neatly hidden. You can't see it at all if it isn't turned on.

Bottomline:

Great Value.

Works on Windows (tested on XP) and Linux (tested on Ubuntu 10.04) too!

It is very hard to put it into USB (I thought that I will destroy the USB port).

Pros:

It's perfect: plug and play, the computer recognize it very fast(less than a second to show up the autorun window, my another card reader take more than 3 seconds), I can send/receive files from my card with speeds bigger than 30mb/s. It's very small, less than 3 centimeters(approximately 1,2 inches), and 2 milimeters of height(approximately 0,2 inches). I use it with my MicroSH HC(16GB) without problems.

Cons:

Nothing, it's simply perfect!

Very nice to who want to take very files to any place in a small device.

The one I received was white. It works as expected, very small and surprisingly well made! The price makes this an absolute bargain for those having to use these ridiculous small SD cards.

Apart from it not being much bigger then the SD card itself, you might end up loosing them both!

Bargain! If you want something small that just works, then this does the business. I haven't done any speed tests, but for my purposes of loading music it does its job just fine. I didn't notice any difference between my old SD card reader using an adapter and this.

Pros:

It can change TF card to USB flash drive.

Cons:

It cannot read any files from TF card. If I attempt to copy file from TF card, it copy only few kilobytes of file and then return "System cannot find required file" and whole device freezes and return "System cannot find required path".
It is native USB 1.1 device, I tried it on old computer with native 1.1 bus and there it worked perfectly but slowly (as 1.1 bus).

Bottomline:

I expected to 100% work, but it is unusable as I cannot copy files from device to computer. Complete waste of money. I received white version. If you want to use ONLY with computers with slow native USB 1.1 buy it.

The price and quality are great. This reader microSD is fine to use on your keychain, it is very small and sturdy. I tested several times and had no problem.

Cons:

I ordered a black microSD reader, but I get a white microSD reader. Other than that I have no complaint about the product.

I use the microSD reader to view files from my cell phone and is always very helpful. With a microSD card it can also be used as a pen drive. Looks great on your keychain.

Bottomline:

I recommend to give as gifts or to have on your keychain. Whenever you need to put mp3 on your phone or change the images you'll always have a microSD reader on hand. Recommended!

Got this for my boyfriend, he had lost the Micro SD reader that came with his R4. Works great, reading speed is really good and you can also carry it around in your keychain.

Cons:

I ordered the black version and what I got instead was the white (cheaper) one. The difference in price is less than a dollar, but still, I wanted the black one 'cause it just looks cooler. If it had been a more expensive product, I would definitely ask for a replacement.
Also, it's not really a con, more like an observation: when inserted in both mine and my boyfriend's laptops, it's upside down.

Bottomline:

Great buy, but I would order the white one if I were you. It’s cheaper and it seems like a lot of people have mistakenly been getting that one instead of the black. Why spend more when there’s a chance you’ll just get the cheaper one anyway?

Great Deal the Micro SD Card reader is super tiny plus it comes with the stap to attach to just about anything.
Reader works well with Vista & Windows XP.

Not many.... just keep an eye on which way you insert it into the USB port.
Initial insertion can be a little stiff but this gets better with wear. Not sure what will happen in the long run... But for the price..

This is a small, micro SD card reader that is very useful. It has a cool little blue LED inside it.

Cons:

A little crappy quality, there's already little cracks on the bottom of it and Ive used it like 5 times, and it never leaves my desk.

-This reader works instantly right out of the box.
-Vista saw it instantly as it was plugged in.
-Its small size makes for easy storage and can be held onto a small laptop for easy access.

Cons:

-It's entirely made out of plastic, so its durability can be questioned, but it probably can take some abuse.
-It also doesn't use a spring in the card slot, so pulling it out requires a little effort with your fingernails.

The price is just unbeatable and works like a charm.

The MicroSD card does not lock in it's position when inserted in the Trans Fash USB reader... always have to watch so the microSD don't fall and get crushed by my big feet.

It is the smallest microSDHC to USB converter that I have seen or owned. Works perfectly with both my original 1GB Nokia MicroSd card and the 4GB MicroSDHC I bought from DX.
The read speeds are ~13 MB/sec and write speeds are ~7MB/sec
It covers the card completely and the card is very securely held.

Cons:

It is very flimsy and I feel it may break in my pocket.

This thing is tiny. It will be nearly impossible to make a microSD reader smaller than this. It's also very cheap, letting me get more use out of the microSD cards I've accumulated over the years as I upgrade to larger and larger capacities.

Cons:

The strap that came with it (to allow it to be attached to something else, such as a keychain) is bright silver, a sharp constrast to the black plastic case of the reader I received. Too bright, in fact, a basic black strap would be a much better fit for this.

The USB plug's contacts are pads on the circuit board, and are exposed through holes in the plastic case, potentially leading to situations where the contacts don't make contact if the pins in the USB jack you're plugging into are slightly out of position.

I just lost mine because the string broke. i had this device on my keychain and now it's gone. However, I use microSD cards for my Kindle, Nintendo DS, and for an older Digital Camera. I will be ordering a couple more because of the usefulness.

I like it. Replace the keychain string as soon as you can. It broke and I lost my device because of that...

Pros:

Well, it's super small, and with some extra MicroSD cards, you can make you own little jump drive. I got this to replace the reader that came with my flashcard as this one is smaller. Much smaller. It's fun and it has a blue access lamp. I like the plastic shell.

Cons:

It may be too small for you, but then you'd just be complaining. There is a small lanyward style screw off clippy thing that is neat, but really, do you want a card reader hanging from you cell, and do you want to unscrew it to take it off to use?

I kept the string on it as a handle, it's that small. I keep it for with my DS because this card reader is smaller than the first. At least a 9/10 overall!

I like it, it's small and it does what it's supposed to. I really like these mainly as thumb drives. I think everyone should have one of these card readers and at least a 4GB microSD card in it.
