Pros:

Good value
No need for batteries
Good quality sound
A must if you have iPod 1st gen
Much cheaper than stuff in the UK

Cons:

None that i can think of, maybe could do with being a bit thiner.
DX takes forever to post items so dont expect to be listening to it any time soon.

Other Thoughts:

For the money this is the only speaker worth going for, un-like some without a battery the sound is ok.

Bottomline:

If you need a good speaker then this might be what you want or at least tide you over untill you get a dock or somthing.

Pros:

Decent sound output quality

Cons:

Non-intuitive volume buttons
Requires volume adjustments for every application.
Could have been little more sleem
Could have came in Black color

Other Thoughts:

I am using the speaker with my iPod Touch 4G.
The version of iOS i am using is 4.2.1.
Unlike some of the other reviewers mentioned, there is no iOS firmware compatibility issues.
The iOS doesn't show any error messages while using the speaker.

Bottomline:

Certainly a decent product.

Pros:

- Small
- decent design
- decent audio
- perfect for watching tv shows, sitcoms, ok for movies and wouldn't really recommend it for low-bass music listening
- Audio quality and bass is much better than sku.34579 (lego brick speaker)
- PERFECT for 1st gen iPod Touches that don't have the built-in speaker

Cons:

- audio quality is not the greatest, but is decent for certain things (see above)
- build quality isn't awful, but it's not great
- I would have liked the bottom of the speaker to be flat like the lego brick speaker so I can stand my iPod up vertically. I cannot do that with this speaker.
- it's white. I would have preferred black, but it's not a big deal
- it doesn't fit in well with my iPod case. I have a rubb case and I really have to push it in to make a connection. And even then, if you move it accidentally, the speaker disconnects.
- It's a bit of a hassle when playing games. It get's in the way and I always accidentally disconnect it if playing a landscape game.

Bottomline:

For just under $8, you can't go wrong. This is a decent quality speaker and is perfect if you have a 1st generation iPod Touch.
Audio quality is better than sku.34579 (lego brick speaker), although doesn't look as cool as the lego brick speaker.

Pros:

I like this item very much.
I use it with my Ipod touch first generation which doesn't comes with built-in speakers. Hence, this comes out to be very handy. Especially when you want to just play games.
Just plug-in and it's done.
The volume slider gone when you plug this in. But then, you can control the volume with the button on this item.
The volume slide still gone even when you plug-out this item. To get back the volume slider, simply plug-in an earphone.
The sound is louder than Gameboy built in speakers. Good treble sound. Can hear drum bass sound.

Cons:

Got sound the of the component inside when you shake it.(Doesn't affect functionality.)
Cannot hear bass guitar sound.
Very noisy if turns on on highest volume. The noisy sound comes from the rattling of the component inside that mentioned before hand.

Other Thoughts:

There's none like this.
If you have Ipod Touch first generation, this is what you should buy.

Buy it.

Pros:

It is a very good price which worked OK on older iPhone firmware and iPods.
The sound is pretty loud, but don't expect loud basses.
The price is OK for the value it gives.

Cons:

Does not work with iPhone OS 3.0. It will give an popup saying it is not compatible. But the sound still works, the popup is just irritating.

Bottomline:

The price is right for this item, but it's a shame it doesn't work on newer firmwares.
It works on: iPod Nano 1st gen, iPod Classic 160GB, iPod Touch OS 2.x.

Pros:

- Good price
- Decent packaging (blister)
- Easy to use

Cons:

- Only white. Should have option for black
- Not too loud, distorts on higher volumes, but for the use I intended to (listen to music at work) it is more than enough. If you plan to turn your Ipod into a boom box this is not for you. :-)

Other Thoughts:

DX could sell these things in other Ipod colors, such as black.

Bottomline:

If all you want is to listen to your ipod music library in places where taking a docking station (e.g. at work) would be "overkill", this does the job. Don't expect bass or audiophile-like audio quality. But just for listening your tunes without earphones, it does the job perfectly.

Pros:

It's sufficiently loud. I'm very satisfied with the volume.
Great sound quality. It's exactly what I'd expect it to sound like, so I wasn't disappointed at all.
It's the exact width of the iPod Touch.
It fits very snuggly into the port.

Cons:

If I was forced to name some cons:
- a little bit on the thick side
- uses iPod's battery
- at very high volume, sound distorts, but is expected. Part of the distortion comes from the rattling of the volume buttons. Tape fixes that.

Other Thoughts:

Would've been nice to see it in black.

Bottomline:

Great price for what you get. You'll be using it all the time. This is a must have for iPod Touch 1st Generation owners.

a tad tinny on full volume but what do you expect for less than £4. if you get the balance right between the unit and the ipod itself the sound is more than exceptable.

a selection of colours would be nice. looks great on my 3G white ipod but looks a bit silly on my red nano.
also a nice little keyring size case to put it in would be nice.

great for the price, will be getting some more for friends when i get the chance.

It has a plastic feel and the sound quality isn't the best. Would be cooler if it would be louder.

You can show a song to your friends anywhere. Don't need to cycle you're earbuds to everyone around.
The quality is like most cellphone speakers. Maybe even a bit better.

Totally worth the price. I recommend for everyone with an Ipod.

Pros:

A Fantastic deal. Small set of personal external speakers at a brilliant price. Nice white ipod like colour (doesn't suit my ipod touch but I am sure it would match most) Fits neatly onto the docking port. Fairly sturdy build. Easy to use volume control (not controlled by ipod volume buttons.) Loud enough for personal use (wouldn't take it to a party - not loud enough) But great for individual use, able to listen to own music without disturbing others around you. Highly recommended.

Cons:

As above not loud enough for a party. Control buttons seem a bit loose. Although it feels sturdy, may break easily if not treated kindly. Only one colour. Had to take off crystal cover for it to fit properly.

Other Thoughts:

Great little set of speakers. Runs off the ipod power. Easy to use. Bought at the same time a set of barrel type speakers (sku02185) that run off AAA batteries and this set is much better in my opinion.

Bottomline:

Great product at the right price.

It came in a sealed envelope that was packaged right. The people on this website pack it well and even give you a tracking number to track it.

Now about the product:
-It is small and very compact.
-Lightweight and looks great attached to the Ipod
-It's easy to use and is self explainitory.
-Also, there is no need to use external power or a battery!

Cons:

-Where did the bass go?
-It is somewhat low around other people/loud places.

I would have wanted it in black to match my Ipod and to have a little bit more bass.

*volume up button feels too recessed, have to push it with fingernail.
*ipod nano does not sit flat with this attached, unless sitting face down.
