Classy Manual Release Folding Knife with Holster

Pros:

This is a solid knife, all metal, with very good sharpness "out of the box"
it have a tanto point, I like it. Very good knife for the money.
Good knife for general chores, it looks good and feel good in the hand.

Cons:

Very, very cheap sheath. Mine goes directly to the trash, absolutle useless.
The clip seems something weak, will see as time goes by.
The box look very cheap, too...but hey! its a $7.50 blade, so.... no complain here.
The lock its not the best, but then again, its a 7.50 knife

It is my first "Gerber" blade from DX, let`s see how perform trough time...

Very nice looking knife Compared it to my other Gerbers. The feel of the knife in your hand, not to heavy. I have used it for camping for 4 years now and sharpened it between them finsh still looks great. I can get it a lot sharper then how it came, Other then that cant complain for the price and for how long i have had it and how many meals and other stuff i have cut.

This knife is one of the best i have tried, I have also tried the real gerber and this is almost the same in design and in sharpness. The inner working of the knife is excellent. Pros:

Looks genuine!
It was actually kinda sharp when i received it :)
Great for opening packages, cutting in paper and so on.
The black finish is veeery good looking.
The folding mechanism is working like a charm :)
CHEAP!!!! Insanely cheap for what you get!!!

Cons:

The case is very thin and feels extremely cheap, dont match the quality of the knife :( but it will probably last a while.
The black colour will probably fade on the blade when sharping, not a big problem but it will be annoying.

Bottomline:

It is amazing how much quality you get for a knife under 8$. It is truely insane.
If you need a knife, buy this, or another knife who is like this one. You wont regret your buy :)

Pros:

I bought this knife to see how well DX's knife hold up against the original CRKTs.
Must say i am pretty impressed with the tanto and the simple lock mechanism.
The build is good and the flipping mechanism works well.

Cons:

Mine came blunt and i had to sharpen it to get the cutting edge.
Mine came a bit tight and i had to drop one drop of light machine oil (used for sewing machine) to loosen it slightly.

Bottomline:

Would be great if the washer is teflon, then the flipping of the knife will be a dream. The clip comes sturdy and the knife is well made.
However, little information on the actual steel used to make the knife and i will only use this for normal cutting. For heavy duty slashing or stabbing (like trying to cut a small branch), i will stick to something more solid.

Pros:

Easy to use thanks to its ergonomic handle. It is a very good option to go fishing, hunting or just camping.

Cons:

The blade looks a little thin but has not yet brought drawbacks. It's a great knife!

Other Thoughts:

I recommend that you sharpen using a fine stone. The knife blade takes a great edge. I use the knife to go to Fish and given me great results!

Bottomline:

The case is somewhat weak but enough recistente for this knife.
The knife would lack any mechanism to add additional security. When the blade is closed can be quite dangerous. It is important to use caution .. as all the knives in the world.

Pros:

Excelent knife.
Very useful.
Perfect size for most tasks.
I carry it with me everyday.
Clip makes it perfect for carrying in jeans' front pockets.

Cons:

Not very sharp actually, but after some sharping got perfect.
One screw fell off after a week but apparently didnt make any noticeable difference.

Other Thoughts:

Holster is sort of big for the knife, but not a real problem.
Even not being that sharp, I happened to cut my thumb while folding it. :)

Great knife for a great price.
If you regularly go into the outdoors you might want to get a better knife, but for some average and everyday use it is perfect.
It comes sharpend, so you can start cutting things right away.
It is just a nice knife to have around, easy to use, strong, stainless steel.
And even if it isn't to your liking, it's only a few bucks, so why not try it?

This knife has a heavy feel to it and opens and closes with ease. The build quality is good and makes a soft click sound when opened and closes. Very satisfying. This knife arrives semi sharp and in a bag which is in a holder which I thought was pretty sweet. When you're getting this, dont expect a diddy knife. This one is a real weapon and feels like one when you hold it.

Cons:

No cons apart from the fact that you prooorbably shouldnt carry it around in your hands in public because it is pretty scary to run of the mill people

First of all, I have to say this knife is killer looking. I mean, open it up and it's pretty intimidating. The knife comes in a pouch that is constructed reasonably well. I mean what do you expect for 7 bucks for the whole thing! For the money, the pouch is acceptable.

The knife itself is smooth in operation. The latching mechanism, albeit rudimentary, it does function perfectly fine. Took me a minute to figure out how it retracted (ie: unlocked). Didn't expect something THAT basic, but I got it worked out fine.
Weight of the knife is good. Doesn't feel too light or overly heavy. It's not bulky, but appropriately compact. It's comfortable to handle, and the blade has a nice edge to it. How that edge will hold, I don't know (haven't owned it long enough to establish that)

Cons:

Well, I'm hard pressed to say anything bad about this shiv! Heh... If I were to try to figure out WHAT I could possibly say bad about it, I might say that the locking mechanism could be a little more intricate... But really, there's quite honestly nothing wrong with this knife at all.

I bought two of these so I could have a knife in each vehicle I drive. You never know when you need a knife in the car to open a package, trim a hang-nail or accidentally stab yourself while driving and playing with this cool knife!

The bottom line is if you need a knife, want something that looks cool, and have 7 bucks burning a hole in your pocket... go crazy and buy this knife for yourself... You won't regret it...

The DX-shipment took like 4 weeks, which felt like ages of course. As I live in Germany, there is always a risk regarding taxes and customs, but this is where DX is pretty professional.
Invoice (low prices!), proper declaration and tough packaging made it worth waiting for.

Bottomline:

Fine knife for being on the road or for the car.
If you loose it it's not like you lost a fortune but seems rigid enough for the usual daily tasks like opening DX-shipments, cutting ropes and poking balloons.
I'd buy it again.

A razor sharp product of DealExtreme and with a logo of a famous knife assemblee factory, it is a nice product, the price is even better as usual on DealExtreme!

It is sometimes very hard to get the safety clip back in the original position, because it stucks.....
No other cons I think this is an amazing product!

I'm not particularly fond of knives that you have to add, but now I have seen the convenience of it, so I will probably order more blades of this kind of here, this was a pilot project but it was worth it. I see that the blades are cheap to was I was skeptical at first, but they are ok.

Bottomline:

Worth the money, but be aware that not all knives that can be imported to such as Norway.

- It is hard to screw blades enought to blade not to rock from side to side but let it open freely.

If you live in cold weather, this knife gets cold in winter due to metal scales. But it is a good knife for a toolbox. I used it when renovating a room and it was of great use to cut wallpapers, wood and anything, After it got really blunt I do not know how to sharpen it restoring the form of the blade.

Bottomline:

It is a cheap knife and you can really see it but it works quite well and can sustain heavy use.

It's great knife according to the price. The overall appearance is excellent, strong and work well (a little too).
I not used excessively, but it gave me very good results ... especially the leaf shape.

The blade edge is not the best, and dull pretty fast. But e can easily resharpened.
The case is quite common, stored in a drawer and there will be a long time.
Spanish: El filo de la hoja no es el mejor, y se desafila bastante rápido. Pero e puede volver a afilar con facilidad.
La funda es bastante común, la guarde en un cajón y ahi se va a quedar un largo tiempo.

Pros:

This knife is really good. It looks cool and has a nice grip on it. You can also attach it to your belt if that's needed. It's also nice that it says Gerber on it, even though it's fake. The blade comes sharp, so you can use it right out of the box. The pouch is nice when you want to carry the knife with you, and is a nice addition. The price is also amazing.

Cons:

The pouch can't be completely closed, and the knife can rattle back and forth while in the pouch. You also need to use some force when you open it. If you use too little force it doesn't come correctly in place, and it can easily come loose and cut your fingers.

Other Thoughts:

Even though it's a folding knife, you can flick it relevitely fast open. This is pretty cool, but may be a problem to some as it may not manage to get through customs.

Bottomline:

An awesome knife for an awesome price. You won't regret buying this. Even if you do not plan to use it, it still looks awesome, and it's cool just to have one.

Gerber knives are well known to all knife users and this one is no exception. It works well, the build quality seems really strong and I have been enjoying this knife and its capabilities. The black finish is definitely a plus and makes the knife look like a serious piece of equipment. The holster is also decent, and I can't wait to take this knife camping and be able to attach it to my body with a biner.

Cons:

Non whatsoever, loved it since I got it.

It takes some getting used to, the folding mechanism is hard to control with one hand since the knife is actually quite big. I was surprised at the size of this knife when I got it, but it was a good surprise since I was expecting a small knife but got a medium sized one that would work great for my camping trips. It was everything I needed.

Bottomline:

Buy the Gerber knife for $7 if you are looking for a decent knife. Gerber is a well known brand and you won't be able to get one at this price anywhere. Shipments might be delayed since it is a knife and customs might have problems with it. I live in Canada and the knife arrived no problem, I can imagine it being the same way for all of NA.

its have a good lock so it won't slide in so easy unless you push the lock bottom down
also its came very sharp and oiled so it won't rust
the case you get with the knife is also a good one
the knife is also a big one its blade is a long one and the wight is a bit heavy for a knife but its fine

this is my 5th knife purchased from DX, and i'd have to say that it will be very useful as a EDC knife...might be a bit intimidating for some. i really like that i came well oiled and sharp out of the box, weight to length ratio is good, CG is about an inch or so from pivot point when open...a bit off balance as a throw knife (hehehe)

The belt clip and pouch are useless. Belt clip was easy to remove and the pouch was easy to ignore.

OMG, I so love this knife. I thought I'd need a good knife with all the packages I've been getting lately, so I just picked this one on DX for the price and popularity, and I was expecting some good, but this is 10x better.
I live in the Netherlands so I had some doubt if I'd get it or not, but within 2 weeks I had it without any problem. I thought the knife wouldn't be very sharp, so I already had some stuff ready to sharpen it, but it came sharp as hell out of the package. the build quality is great, it's so great that the first few days I couldn't keep my hands of it.

Cons:

I want to say none, but otherwise this box is wasted, so if I had to name one, when I put the knife in the sack it comes with it gets stuck sometimes when taking out
