Subject: Pen not working in Ubuntu (Linux)

Although the manual suggests that this pen should work in Linux, I can not open the device in Ubuntu 8.10 Intrepid Ibex on both my desktop as well as my laptop. In Windows the device works fine though. In windows it uses the standard mass storage device driver, so it is very odd that Ubuntu can not open it. At Location > Computer the device can be seen as a USB-disk, but clicking on it reacts the same as a card reader which has no card in it: it gives an error that no media is present. On both systems all other USB storage devices (such as USB memory sticks, external harddrives and card readers) work fine. Any suggestions are welcome...
