My 4GB spypen will only record for a few minutes before switching off.
The battery appears to be charged, cos if I hit record again it'll record once more but once again, only for a few minutes.
It used to record for up to an hour at one stage, now it doesn't.
It was working fine until a week ago (week ago when I 'formatted' the pen - I use windows XP)
Is there anyway to fix it? please help I'm desperate.
Do you think updating the firmware will sort it out? where can I download the firmware?

Assuming your battery is still good and fully charged, then it might be caused by the profile.dat file in the second drive under the "system" folder. This file is modified each time you're using the pencam.
I will suggest to format ONLY the second AND the third drive (after saving your avi files of course). Be sure to keep your first drive intact (the one with the bin files). Then proceed to safe disconnection of usb drive without physically disconnecting it. Then Windows will detect the drive again and brand new files in the second and third drive will be recreated.

What happens if I've already formatted the whole pen? is there anyway of recovering the lost information?

Yes, but you will have to remember which bin files you had. Was there 6 of them or 4 or maybe only two, also when did you purchase the pencam.
I will upload them for you. Keep in mind that these are no upgrades, only the original bin files.

The blue light of my spy pen does not turn on, the yellow light stays lit all the time.

Do you have to reset it in order to turn off the yellow light or it turn of by itself after a while ?
Please give as much details as possible.

Hi, i got exactly the same problem as familyforvendas, blue led never light.
Pen isn't seen by windows, and i have to reset it to turn of the yellow led.
Is there any thing i can do to make it work again ?
