I have a problem with my spy pen, it doesn't seem to work. When I connect it to the charger, both the blue and the yellow led light up, constantly (no blinking). When I connect it to the pc, the leds just lights up there too, but nothing happens at the pc, I can't see it as a flash drive or anything.
If I try to record something, also both leds light up, as long as I hold the top button pressed. When I release the button, they don't light anymore. It doesn't help to hold the button for a long time. I have also tried to reset it, but it didn't help anything.
So does anyone know what I could do? Is it defective? As I've undeerstood, both leds should not light up at the same time?

Anyone knows? Should both the yellow and the blue led light constantly, at any time? Can someone tell me if my spy pen is defective?

Please reply someone? The CSE said that I should look in the forums, but for me the pen cam seem quite dead.
The pc doesn't see it, and I can't even get it powered on. The blue and yellow leds lights only when I hold down the record button, or when it is connected to the power supply.

reply to cse saying that it has been confirmed in the forum that your pen is broken and needs replacing.

I agree, had one like that myself, had to be replaced after I had gone through the usual channels... Tell them you've asked in the forums and been told from others with the same problem to return it, also if you are asked if it's possible to get it repaired, explain to them that it would cost far in excess of the price of the item to do that.

Hi guys, I have to tell you that I am not happy with my last pencam purchase. I've bought 30 of them and MOST of them are not working!
Exactly 22 are recording but only for a max of 20 minutes. 7 of them are doing what you mentionned in this thread and one is completely dead. I opened one to see if I could find something (I am an electronic tech) and found that there is a lot of cold joints on the chips.
Even some of the legs are not soldered at all! Also, the battery is smaller than before.
No surprise that a lot of you guys getting many kind of issues.
It's only a bad batch made too quickly to fill out the demand but without any Q.C.
Please DX at least take the time to verify them not just by recording 30 seconds and that's it but you should make all the tests before shipping to your customers. After all, it's your reputation you're playing with.
Thanks.

There might be more than one maker of these pencams because this last batch does'nt behave like previous ones. Even the chargers are not the same. I've also found a lot of differences, maybe I'll post a review about them. IMHO you should not buy this item until DX find another manufacturer.

I asked CSE to ship me the camera part as a replacement, but they can't do it because they're out of stock :/
But I opened the pen to see if I can find out why it isn't working, but I didn't find anything obvious.
I took some pictures, if someone could take a look?

You will need a microscope or a good magnifier to see the defect on it. More precisely, take a look at the bigest chip, you will find that the solders are flimsy and they are not covering the leads completely. Also some leads might be lift off and don't even touch the solder pad!
