After dropping it - dead - forever - so - took it apart - too bad it does not have a plastic insulator - you will damage the board and blow the battery as I did when removing it from the pen in the wrong manner. . Anyway - to remove the board you must remove the Ferrel attached to the pen simply by tightening up the pen as good and tight then moving the Ferrell back and forth slightly while pulling in a downward position - do not over spin - this is where the damage is done - try wiggling it back and forth until it slides out of the case - do not try to remove it by pulling on the usb part - it is attached to the board and will short out on the side of the pen - this is what the white plastic is for around the usb port to keep it from shorting out - the biggest problem is the lypo pack - it hangs up in their a little and rides on top of the board - the camera it self can get hung up on the clip the clip should be removed first - easily pried off - gives more room to get the lypo out. Now apart properly you can attach a higher power external battery to fit in your pocket - their is plenty of extra wire going to the battery - make sure it is one that you are able to charge and have a good holder for it - I am using an old cell phone battery wired up to pop out so i can place it in a charger - all this is not necessary for anyone but the info is here if you need it - I just hate to charge it all the time and I don't take it out of the pocket so no one sees the wires anyway - works great on my kite. It uses a small electric mic which is why you get that crappy sound - it amplifies anything touching the pen - out of luck for that - overall - a great working camera - at least the one I got works well for me - we had problems around the apartment complex so I did daily walk troughs and captured about 57 plates and about 60 photos - seems their was some under aged parties going on which was unnoticed until loud noise and property damage began - with the help of other cameras and the pen cam - they are evicted.
