The ease of use could be rated higher but the fact is that it actually takes some time to learn flying helicopters. There are two directional pads on the remote which takes some time to get used to.

I've heard of E-Sky's Honey Bee series helicopters since high school. They are definitely one of the long lasting and legendary brands around the world. Although more expensive helicopters have 6-channel controls, 4-channel helicopters are much easier to learn. The main advantage of 6-channel controls is their ability to fly inverted, and is likely unnecessary for leisure pilots anyway (it is not easy to fly up side down).

If you are a beginner, get some cheap replacement blades from the parts section below. They won't break easily but chances are that you will need them while you finish learning how to fly.

Usage Instructions Return to top
(This information is very important and is detailed in the manual but just in case you don't want to read them, we've reworded them here.)

1. Prior to initial use, fully charge the included lithium battery. The status light LED turns green on the charger adaptor when charging is done (this should take less than 1 hour). Don't connect the battery to the helicopter yet.

2. Next, make sure your remote control is switched to OFF and install the 8 included AA batteries into the remote control.

3. Important: before you turn on the remote control, pull both the throttle stick and the trim switch besides the stick all the way down. If you don't do this your helicopter will begin flying the second you connect its power - this must be avoided.

4. Now, turn on the remote control and check if the battery indicator light is at least yellow. If the light is green then it'd be even better.

5. Finally, install the the lithium battery into the helicopter by snapping the battery into the bottom of the helicopter. If you have done it correctly the battery should be held firmly in place. If all looks good, connect power to the helicopter. This is done by hooking up the red male plug on the battery to the red female plug on the helicopter.

After you connect power, the servos (black control units under the blades) will re-adjust themselves and make some noise in the process. This takes less than a second and is perfectly normal. Don't worry the blades won't begin turning (provided that you've followed step 3).

At this point, all is set. Follow the detailed flying tutorials in the user's manual that's easy enough even for beginners and fortunately it is fully printed in English.
