This LED badge is straight forward to use. It's eyes catchy to wear it on your cloths with the provided ultra magnet. This would be lovely if you are hosting a event or presentation. It weights 1.6oz and sizes about the same as a credit card.

The software for updating the device (included on the CD) is easy to use. A 3-button onboard interface is also available to fully customize the badge without a computer around.

One of the bad thing is that the badge cannot pick up the wireless signal from the USB / RS232 transmission cable too far away; you need to bring the badge very close to it to perform updates. We haven't tried using our other IrDA dongles to update this device yet. As the update software only asks for the COM port of the update dongle, theoretically other IrDA dongles will work and will prossibly give much longer update ranges. If you have experience on this, let us know by posting in the forum below.

Via Computer
Connect the USB or serial cable with your computer, and point the infrared pointer to the LED badge to change text. If the device does not respond to updates, try pointing the IR transmitter cable right on top of the IR receiver on the lower right corner behind badge (marked by "PT")

Via Onboard Controls
Press the buttons on the back of the LED badge to perform text automatic scrolling, text switching, LED brightness, text scrolling speed, and on/off operation.
